The Forestry Training Institute ( FTI) was established in 1937 to provide a two year training for Forest Rangers at certificate level. It is operating under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. The institute has expanded gradually both academically and structurally. This improvement has been achieved through the commitment of the government of Tanzania ( GOT) and other external donors. Both national and international students are recruited and admitted every year.
